Celebrate Getting Back Up
"Not to feel exasperated, or defeated, or despondent because your days aren't packed with wise and moral actions. But to get back up when you fail, to celebrate behaving like a human—however imperfectly—and fully embrace the pursuit that you've embarked on" - Marcus Aurelius, Meditations
As a man who lived with a desire to conquer and to succeed, Aurelius likely had days that he wished he could have back. Similarly, there have been times in my life where I have failed and had regrets. However, Aurelius teaches us here that regardless of the shortcomings we face in life, staying true to our morals and working hard to achieve our goals leads to success and happiness. Everyone feels the desire to quit, but pushing through in these moments creates strong-willed people capable of achieving great accomplishments.
